Drive mapping information

If you are a member of FRE you will have three or four drive mappings after you login.

If you do not have a share setup and would like one then please contact us at fre-support-l@ifas.ufl.edu

To map the drives above from a computer not on the domain but connected to the VPN then run this script: \\ad.ufl.edu\NETLOGON\IFAS\FRE\_IFAS-FRE-Users_autogs.vbs

To download files from one of the three shares from a web browser (anywhere) go here: https://files.ifas.ufl.edu/FRE

Backup Documents

This script will backup files located in your Documents, Pictures, and Favorites folders.

There is a version for Windows XP \\ad.ufl.edu\NETLOGON\IFAS\FRE\backupXPdocuments.vbs
and another for Windows Vista \\ad.ufl.edu\NETLOGON\IFAS\FRE\backupVistadocuments.vbs

The script will run in the background until it has completed. You may verify completion but checking your H: drive.

  3. Click on the Local Resources Tab. On this page you can choose whether or not to bring the remote sound and drives to your local desktop. A useful setting is to bring a flash drive to the remote desktop session. I have a flash drive plugged into my USB port and I have files I want available to my Remote Desktop session so I click More under Local devices and resources. A sample screen is shown in Figure 4.

  4. After clicking More under the Local Resources tab you will be presented with a new window and you may select a drive. I have already looked in My Computer and know my flash drive is labeled as the H: drive. Check this and it will show up under My Computer in the Remote Desktop session.
