The Economic Impact Analysis Program often collaborates with other departments and academic units both within and outside of the University of Florida to support the needs for economic impact analyses for purposes of research proposal development or program assessment.

• Economic Analysis

  As funding agencies, such as the National Science Foundation, USDA, and EPA, increasingly support interdisciplinary research efforts or require an economic analysis component for research proposals across a wide range of disciplines, it is increasingly likely that others in academia are in search of collaborators with expertise in economic analysis and modeling.  The Economic Impact Analysis Program can provide expertise in the following areas:

  • regional economic modeling and analysis at the county, state, or national level
  • economic impact analysis of industry activity, commodity production, government regulations or policies, new technologies, and natural disasters
  • evaluation of economic linkages among industries, institutions, and households

  Such analyses are also helpful for academic units that are interested in economic analyses for the purposes of program assessment.

• Survey Research

  Often in collaboration with the Florida Agricultural Market Research Center or the Florida Survey Research Center, the Economic Impact Analysis Program offers survey research services including:

  • survey questionnaire and statistical sampling design
  • mail and telephone survey implementation and analysis
  • measurement of industry or commodity output, imports/exports, employment, value-added, and inputs purchased
  • measurement of consumer expenditures, consumption, and purchasing patterns
  • assessment of producer or consumer opinions, preferences, and expectations
• General Services

  The Economics Impact Analysis Program also offers public presentations, academic seminars, and training programs on a variety of topics.
