FRE student awarded "Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year"

Xuqi "Ricky" Chen received the 2018 Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year from the UF Graduate Student Council (GSC).  Chen received the award based on his research and its significance to the field of food and resource economics. 

Chen was nominated for his involvement in five separate projects that examine the market potential of Florida produced 100% NFC orange juice in China, a demand analysis of Florida produced fresh strawberries in the US market, a consumption analysis of online grocery shopping from Amazon review, and consumer preference for sea level rise adaptation strategies in Miami.

Chen expects to graduate this Spring with a Ph.D. in food and resource economics.  His primary field of interests include consumer behavior, food marketing, agribusiness, and behavioral economics.
