Phase 2

Launch

Expected Fall 2026

Phase 2 will launch the UF Agricultural and Rural Entrepreneurship Program off the ground by offering a minor and/or certificate in agricultural and rural entrepreneurship, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Our Phase 2 focus will also be on funding events such as workshops, site visits, and Professor-for-a-Day seminars, and creating marketing materials to promote the program further. Our industry mentorship program will be at the heart of the program, providing students the opportunity to learn real-world skills from successful Gator Entrepreneurs in the agriculture and rural enterprise industry.

Phase 3

Expansion

With strong funding, we can make an even greater impact. Our expansion plans include offering this program to non-degree seeking participants across the state through an Extension certificate and online, one-credit hour modules on agribusiness entrepreneurship. By reducing barriers to accessing the program, we hope to strengthen Florida’s rural communities.

Phase 4

Long-term Vision

Endowments will ensure our program is sustainably funded year after year. Likewise, a dedicated facility space for student engagement will keep us competitive with peer institutions, helping us recruit and retain outstanding students.
