You will first need to schedule an appointment with an FRE Advisor. During that meeting the advisor will go over what to expect with the FRE curriculum, opportunities within the major, next steps, as well as any additional questions you may have.
If an advisor approves of your change of major, you will need to complete the CALS Change of Major Form.
If you are a transfer student, you will need to register for a Preview date. This is required. At Preview we will meet and go over all of your classes, as well as get you registered for them. You must register for & attend a Preview session. If you have any questions about Preview or are having trouble registering for a Preview date, please contact the Center for New Student & Family Programs.
Your admission into the UF/IFAS Food and Resource Economics Department is determined by the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS). Questions regarding your application can generally be directed to the CALS Dean's Office.

Your admission to UF as a Freshman student is determined by the University of Florida's Office of Admissions. All questions regarding the freshman application process should be directed to that office.

To register for classes, you will need to visit your ONE.UF. Sign in with your Gatorlink and go to Register/View My Schedule, then select the semester you are registering for.
This is determined by degree completion (credits toward your current degree audit), NOT by total hours earned
Meaning, you may not be able to enroll in the course yourself, but you can contact the FRE Advisor for assistance.
AEB 4325 is Departmentally Controlled because it can only be taken in your final Fall or Spring semester.
**You must clear all holds before you will be able to register or see your registration start time! Do this early, do not wait until registration day to do this!**
You may request to add a minor after 45 credits earned. Apply to add a minor in your One.UF.
All minor courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C.
Yes, you can earn credit for completing an internship and it can count towards your FRE Elective credits. Please contact the FRE Advisor to discuss your internship and submitting documentation for internship approval.
If approved, you would then be registered for AEB 4941. You can earn between 1-3 credits for your internship depending on the number of hours you will be completing; 1-credit for 120 hours, 2-credits for 240 hours, 3-credits for 360 hours.
While the course is required in order to earn credit for your internship, you do not have to complete the internship for credit. You are able to freely complete internships.
