Forest Product Manufacturing

Pulp and Paper

In addition to timber and forest products production, the broader forestry industry also includes operations involved in transforming timber and forest products into wood and paper products.

Primary forest product operations, such as wood and paper mills, are involved in transforming roundwood logs into lumber, plywood, pulp, paper and other wood products.

Secondary forest product operations are involved in transforming the products of primary forest product manufacturers into furniture, wood fixtures, molding, trusses, paper bags, stationery products, and other converted wood and paper products.

Direct Economic Contributions (2022)

When considering multiplier effects, Florida’s forest product manufacturing operations support $21.77 billion in sales revenue and 67,758 jobs throughout the state’s economy.
